My compositions are influenced by the natural world in all its moods. Light and dark, sunlight and shadow, sea and sky, and the impressions of the people and events in my life....

Today in my Garden

I was born in Liverpool in 1943, began playing the guitar at the age of 14,  and like many Merseyside boys of the '50's I was in a skiffle group .

It was a short step for me to Jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt, followed by a fascination with the Bossa Nova and Charlie Byrd.

In 1965, a move to Suffolk led to teaching the guitar, playing in various bands , and giving solo performances.

These experiences laid the foundations for the development of my compositions in which Jazz ,Classical, Folk, Bossa Nova, and Flamenco elements can be heard.

In 1989 I produced my first collection, 'Influences', following a move to live in North Devon, and in 2003 my second collection 'Dance of the Clouds' was put together, after my return to Suffolk.

Several of these pieces have been used around the world as incidental music for radio and television programmes, and I am currently producing new music.
